Exceptional Chalk Stream Fishing

Fisheries Management & Stewardship

The Piscatorial Society is the home of English chalk stream fly fishing and conservation
Classic chalk stream fishing – upstream barbless dry fly and nymph. Mainly wild trout and grayling, but with many beats offering stocked browns, and stocked rainbows in our lakes. Miles of bank fishing, miles of wading and miles of both. Fishing available 365 days a year
By investing over the long term in the scientific and developmental work vital to restoring and preserving chalk stream landscapes, we’ve enabled our full‑time fisheries team to earn an enviable reputation for the Society’s outstanding fisheries

Apart from the fishing, our calendar is busy with everything from skills workshops and social events to special-interest groups (eg photography, fly-tying), fishing trips and meetings featuring expert guest speakers
We’re always keen to welcome fishers who share our approach and commitment. The waiting list is usually quite short and the application process can involve a day’s fishing as our guest
